During my recent visit to Nonna Nenetta 2.0 in Belval, I had mixed impressions. First of all, the ambiance of the place is pleasant, with décor that evokes Italy. However, the manager’s welcome was not what I expected. I felt a certain coldness, and he clearly indicated that we needed to leave our table at some point to make way for other customers. This somewhat spoiled the experience, as I like to take my time to savor my meal.
Regarding the service, I must say that our server was a positive highlight. He was smiling, attentive, and very active, which added a touch of friendliness to our meal.
As for the food, I had heard great things about the pizzas, which seem to be their specialty. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to try them this time. Instead, I opted for the filet mignon, which, at 32 euros, turned out to be disappointing. The meat lacked flavor and was far from tender. Additionally, the accompanying vegetable was bland, which did not help elevate the dish. Because of this experience, I didn’t even feel tempted to order dessert, which is usually something I look forward to.
The transition from Nonna Nenetta to Nonna Nenetta 2.0 suggests a modern evolution of their concept while maintaining their traditional Italian roots. The restaurant takes pride in its fresh and high-quality ingredients, offering a wide range of Italian dishes, from antipasti to homemade pasta, 100% Italian meats, and their famous Neapolitan pizzas. However, based on my experience, the execution of certain dishes still needs improvement.
My first experience at Nonna Nenetta 2.0 left me with mixed feelings. While the service was excellent, the food quality, especially the filet mignon, did not meet my expectations. I would rate this visit 3 stars ⭐⭐⭐.
Would I return? Maybe – but only to try their famous pizzas! 🍕
